What is a BBL

A Brazilian buttock elevator (BBL) is a cosmetic surgical procedure used to improve the shape and size of the buttocks. This procedure involves suctioning (liposuction) fat from other parts of the body, such as the abdomen, thighs or hips. This fat is then purified and re-injected into the buttocks to make them fuller and better shaped.

The steps of a BBL

  • 1. Consultation: The surgeon discusses the patient’s wishes, assesses eligibility and explains the procedure, risks and recovery.
  • 2. Preparation: The patient undergoes medical tests and receives instructions on medication, nutrition and smoking prior to the procedure.
  • 3. Anesthesia:The patient receives general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation to make the procedure painless.
  • 4. Liposuction: Fat is removed via liposuction from areas such as the abdomen, thighs or hips. The fat is purified and prepared for transplantation.
  • 5. fat grafting: The purified fat is injected into the buttocks in several layers to create volume and shape.
  • 6. Recovery: After surgery, the patient receives aftercare instructions, including wearing compression garments and avoiding pressure on the buttocks. Full recovery takes several months.
  • 7. Follow-up: Regular monitoring appointments are necessary to monitor progress and detect any complications. Final results are seen after several months.

The recovery process of a BBL

The recovery phase is around 10-14 days. It is important to follow your doctor’s instructions for managing the pain. For example, because your skin will be numb, it is important not to use ice or a heating pad around the buttocks or hips, otherwise you may burn your skin without feeling it. Also be aware that compression garments have both benefits and risks. Too much compression can damage newly treated skin. It is therefore recommended that you spend at least 1 hour a day without compression garments.

In addition, it is important that you avoid vigorous exercise during the first month of your recovery. Only after your surgeon gives permission can you begin lunges, squats and other exercises to strengthen your glutes. This can ensure that the results are enhanced by increasing muscle mass and definition. Be sure not to overdo it when you return to exercise and make sure to keep your fat percentage under control, otherwise you may lose some fat from your buttocks again.

Frequently asked questions about BBL

Like other cosmetic procedures, the Brazilian bill elevator also carries some risks. These risks include bleeding, infection, asymmetry, swelling and allergies due to anesthesia. The patient must be realistic about the process and aware of its risks because the decision about surgery is personal.

Brazilian buttlift effects can last for many years if the patient leads a healthy life and a proper diet. Gaining or losing weight can be cited as one of the most important factors.

BBL surgery uses the patient’s own fat, making it possible to achieve a more natural appearance. A BBL involves less risk than implants, and the cost of BBL is more affordable.

Brazilian buttock surgery or aesthetic surgery of the buttocks usually involves extensive liposuction and reshaping of the buttock area. Depending on the techniques used during the procedure, the pain threshold and the patient’s health condition, post-procedure pain may vary. It is normal to feel pain and discomfort for the first few days after Brazilian buttock surgery. This pain is caused by swelling, bruising and incisions in the surgical area and can usually be controlled with medication and will disappear within a few days.

It is not possible for the body to reject the BBL. In Brazilian buttock surgery, fat is taken from another part of the body, such as the abdomen or thighs, via liposuction and then transferred to the buttocks. Because the fat comes from the patient’s own body, there is no risk of rejection. However, as with any surgical procedure, there are risks associated with BBL, including infection, bleeding, scarring and other complications. To minimize these risks and achieve a safe and successful outcome, it is important to choose a surgeon with extensive experience in BBL surgery.
